Awe Workshops at NOW Gallery - London Design Festival
A series of workshops created by myself and Common Exception, inspired by our shared love of awe-searching, shapes, colours and patterns.
The workshops were held at NOW Gallery and were part of London Design Festival.
Our first workshop ‘Walk + Awe’ explored Greenwich Peninsula, walking around the Design District and taking inspiration from our surroundings - noticing the joy in the quiet city details. Back at the gallery, we then guided participants through a series of collaging exercises, thinking about shape, colour, texture and pattern.
Our second workshop ‘Music + Awe’ explored how different sounds and beats help us create. We led visitors through a series of tasks in response to a live DJ set by Guava Jamz. Common Exception and I curated a playlist of different songs - from jazz and funk, to classical and drum and bass, and then invited visitors to explored how different rhythms and sounds inspire unique shapes, marks and lines through drawing and collage.

You can also get your own Music + Awe Activity Booklets to do at home, which guides you through a range of different songs, with drawing and collage exercises to follow along to. Listen to our specially curated playlists and listen closely to the sounds and rhythms to inspire different marks, shape, colours and patterns.
