Brookfield Place Workshops - New York City
I hosted a drawing and pattern making workshop at The Fandangoe Skip in Manhattan, New York. The ice-cream-kiosk-in-a-dumpster hosted free mental health workshops alongside delicious ice cream, inviting New Yorkers to chat and share important conversations around mental health over a tasty scoop.
Searching for city patterns is often how I calm my racing mind - tuning into the quiet details around me. Together in the workshop, we focussed on and drew inspiration from the city's shapes, patterns and textures - from the rhythm of rectangles up high in the sky-scrapers, to the shadows cast beneath our feet.
It felt fantastic to hear that people came away from the session with a soothed mind and a new appreciation for their mighty and spectacular city. A wonderful campaign to help people heal together through ice cream and the arts.
