Storeys x Coco Lom Mural - Cambridge Heath Road, East London
A new colourful mural on Cambridge Heath Road in East London, commissioned by London letting agents, Storeys. We both share the same passion to bring colour and joy to the community through art and enhancing the local area.
Colour has the power to transform our public spaces, as well as our mood, emotions and behaviour. Colourful city spaces create togetherness and mean that we care for our urban environments. Colour also makes people feel an emotion of wonder and awe, which is really great for our physical and mental health.
My design is inspired by the patterns, shapes and colours of the neighbourhood. I love photographing the quiet and overlooked details of city spaces. These details give a place personality, and being curious and searching for them can bring us so much joy. I often start my projects with photography, and then explore all the different shapes and textures within my images, which I use as inspiration for my designs.
The radiating colours can be seen when cycling along the canal, walking along the busy main road or on the top deck of a bus for the best view!
Our mural invites passersby to slow down, look up, drink in the details and feel more connected to the spaces around us.
