Walk + Awe for NOW Gallery - London Design Festival
A series of workshops created by myself and Common Exception, exploring place, pattern and the everyday power of 'awe'.
Created for the NOW Gallery as part of London Design Festival, we invited participants to slow down and notice what's around them. We started the session by taking our participants on a guided walk through Greenwich Peninsula - drawing, photographing and collecting fragments of colour, shape and texture from the city's surfaces.
Back at the gallery, participants used their finings to create personal collages inside workbooks which Common Exception and I created for the gallery. We shared prompts to inspire their collages, playing with shape, colour, visual similarities, juxtapositions and repeating patterns.
We were delighted to use paper offcuts from the G. F Smith factory for this workshop - recycling waste into colourful artworks!
If you’re interested to have us host an awe-inspiring workshop in your space or at your place of work, drop me an email at hello.cocolom@gmail.com - we’d love to hear from you!
