War Child commissioned me to create a music-inspired t-shirt to celebrate their 2025 edition of Secret 7”. 

 

Secret 7” is a charity project that combines music and art to raise funds and awareness for War Child, helping ensure a safe future for every child affected by war around the world.

 

My design is inspired by the rhythms, textures and patterns in music. Listening to a variety of songs, I let the music guide my hand, translating the waves of sound onto the paper through different marks and lines. Using one of my favourite tools, my photocopier, I then danced my drawings along the moving scanner bed to develop patterns full of motion - mirroring the shifts of energy in our bodies when we collectively move to music.

 

My t-shirt, ‘The Rhythm of Unity’, is a celebration of music’s power to spark joy, inspire play and bring people together.

 

I’m sure you know for yourself that music has the magical power to lower stress, relieve pain and increase happiness, and even improve brain function! I hope my T-shirt inspires you to have a wiggle and move your body - whether it’s while drawing to your favourite song, or having a boogie on the dance floor.
